Our Story
Silver lining: a sign of hope in an unfortunate or gloomy situation.
Lucas’ story:
You all probably know our story by now…
It all started on March 14th, 2020 (Celeste’s birthday and Pi Day). The city went into lockdown and Natalie invited her co-worker, Celeste, to spend her birthday with our family. What we thought would be a few days turned into a few months of building puzzles and watching movies together. A silver lining from the pandemic emerged as we spent more time together and I noticed how fun, kind, and incredibly talented Celeste is. It felt like we had known each other for a lifetime and Celeste fit in like she had always been a part of our family. As the world seemed to be falling apart, our love started to grow. We found solace in each other's company during challenging times, turning a crazy chapter into a story we’ll cherish and share for the rest of our lives.
Celeste’s story:
Through an act of kindness, I found the love of my life. Amidst uncertainty, quarantining with the Silversteins will forever be a highlight in my life. What drew me to Lucas (besides his incredible beard) was the way he treated his mom Heidi. The time they spent together in the kitchen, cooking up delicious meals for everyone, gave me a glimpse into his heart. His impeccable taste in music, movies, and futbol (not to be mistaken with American football) led to endless conversations over tea. And yes, I probably was the one to have made the first move, a bold one, getting a second Xbox remote so we could play FIFA together. While I didn’t live up to my goal of beating him, we now have a lifetime to keep playing, loving and laughing together.
